About The Position

The Laboratory Supervisor assists the Administrative Laboratory Director with the administrative, quality, and regulatory oversite of all aspects of laboratory operations under the direction of the CLIA Laboratory Director. The Laboratory Supervisor will lead by example, foster a culture of inclusive and unified teamwork, and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional patient care and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and supervises activities within the laboratory; prepares data collection and analysis, maintains records, prepares reports, and effectively communicates information with staff and leadership.
Supervises laboratory safety and security including maintaining current knowledge of all relevant protocols, regulations, standards, and safety procedures, as well as developing and maintaining laboratory policies and procedures.
Responsible for personnel activities such as staff scheduling and work assignments, setting priorities, evaluating performance; organizing training and staff development, coordinating staff meetings, continuing education/in-services, and student rotation schedules.
Demonstrates exceptional coaching, mentoring, educational, and communication skills.
Maintains an intimate working knowledge of federal, state, and industry regulatory standards for all complexities of clinical laboratory testing and applies that knowledge to effectively supervises laboratory personnel on maintaining operational compliance and inspection readiness.
Responsible for laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools including validating, inspecting, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting; maintaining performance and compliance with the laboratory’s quality management plan.
Coordinates inventory management, requisitioning, invoicing, billing, and charge reconciliation tasks.
Participates in cost analysis, capital, and strategic planning, and expense monitoring activities.
