About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory, this role supervises the daily operations of the Laboratory department in accordance with accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. The position is responsible for analyzing specimens and obtaining data for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It provides safe and efficient laboratory services to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patient populations. The role involves communication with medical staff, other departments and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of up to thirty (30) professional and skilled personnel.

Requirements

• Education level equivalent to four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred.
• Current Medical Technology Certificate licensed by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT.
• Current license to practice medical technology in the state of Georgia.
• Advanced management skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, facilitating, interviewing, counseling, verbal and written communications.
• Three to five years experience in laboratory management or related field.
• Intermediate computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical competence in Medical Technology preferred.
• BLS preferred.
