About The Position

The Supervisor, Inspection oversees the execution of policy on quality control and inspection at Alaska Airlines (AS). As a people leader, this role leads and establishes priorities for the team to ensure the aircraft standards are safe, compliant, and reliable with economic performance.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in maintenance on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License and have held these ratings for at least 3 years.
  • Excellent professional and communication skills to support leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to meet assigned project deadlines with self-directed decision-making confidence.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must possess a valid passport and have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, operating policies and procedures.
  • Experience as maintenance inspector.
  • Leadership experience.
  • NDT Level II Certification.
  • Certification/Experience; Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Ultrasound, and Eddy Current.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company safety policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations by reporting any safety hazard or potential hazard.
  • Supervise Lead Inspectors, Inspectors, SEA Tool Crib Stores Agent(s) and Seattle Tool Room Aircraft Technician(s) in the performance of their duties.
  • Schedule additional shift coverage of Inspectors or Tooling personnel for unscheduled workloads.
  • Consult direct manager to ensure proper assignment of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspectors, to maintain a flow of work-in-progress.
  • Oversee the application of inspection and quality control methods, and procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and economical performance of AS aircrafts.
  • Maintain and control equipment used by the Inspection and Maintenance teams to provide the necessary support to the overall Maintenance Operation.
  • Supervise the execution of workmanship and materials to verify that applicable AS and FAA regulations and standards are in compliance.
  • As the lead subject matter expert in inspection procedures ensure the process is executed as specified in the Receiving Inspection process checklist.
  • Collaborate with peers to conduct a continuous audit to provide state-of-the-art inspection and maintenance tooling for the M&E division.
  • Include SMS in daily work habits and remain current in the training requirements for SMS.
