About The Position

QinetiQ US is seeking an Inspection Supervisor to support our Franklin MA location. The Receiving Inspection & In-Process Inspection Supervisor is responsible for leading inspection operations supporting aerospace and defense manufacturing programs, ensuring compliance to contractual, regulatory, customer, and internal quality management system requirements. This role provides direct leadership to Receiving Inspection and In-Process Inspection personnel while driving operational excellence, throughput, compliance integrity, and risk reduction across production and supplier-facing activities. The Supervisor serves as a key operational partner to Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Program Management, and Material Review Board (MRB) functions to ensure timely inspection execution, containment of nonconforming material, and adherence to AS9100, customer flow-down requirements, and defense industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or comparable experience.
  • Aerospace and defense quality inspection experience
  • Lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing quality operations
  • 3 years related experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of: AS9100, Aerospace manufacturing processes, Blueprint reading and GD&T, Inspection methodologies, RCCA methodologies, Configuration management, Defense contractual compliance
  • Experience working within MRB and nonconformance management systems
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES/QMS systems and electronic inspection records
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • IPC/J-STD certification experience
  • Experience supporting: Defense aerospace programs, Military hardware, Electronic warfare systems, FAA or DoD regulated environments
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure incoming material inspection compliance to: Purchase Order requirements, Engineering drawings, Specifications, Customer flow-down clauses, AS9100 requirements
  • Verify supplier documentation including: Certificates of Conformance (CoC), FAIR documentation, Material certifications, Special process certifications, Traceability records
  • Coordinate containment and disposition activities for supplier nonconformances
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain on supplier corrective actions and risk mitigation
  • Ensure in-process inspection activities support manufacturing quality, build integrity, and configuration control
  • Verify manufacturing compliance to: Work instructions, Routers/travelers, Engineering requirements, Process specifications
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), process verification, and critical characteristic validation activities
  • Drive prevention-focused inspection strategies to reduce escapes and rework
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve first-pass yield and reduce defect generation
  • Ensure inspection operations comply with: AS9100, ISO 9001, Customer contractual requirements, Government and defense regulations, Internal Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
  • Ensure accurate and complete objective evidence and inspection records
  • Maintain calibration, tooling, and inspection equipment compliance
