About The Position

Vallen's Supervisor Inside Sales (Customer Service Supervisor) is a staff management position that assists the Customer Service Manager with supervisory responsibilities for all remote and physically present associates. This role involves directly supervising associates, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. The position also entails appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. A key aspect of this role is developing associates' skills, encouraging growth, and providing training on required systems and product/technical competency. The supervisor is responsible for developing and deploying succession planning, ensuring compliance with variable pay plans, and conducting annual performance reviews for all direct reports. Additionally, the role supports managing sales, margin, and production budgets and forecasts, Inside Sales staff performance, and pricing matrices. It requires providing monthly/quarterly performance reports, driving digital utilization, and resolving customer complaints promptly. The supervisor will monitor segment performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reports, ensuring compliance with service KPI goals. The role also involves managing company assets, inventory information flow, timely billing of customer orders, and resolution of Accounts Receivable disputes. Ensuring compliance with customer contracts, HNA pricing & Freight policies, and company SOPs and Internal Control Standards is crucial. The supervisor will collaborate with Vallen Business Partners to implement strategic initiatives and enable cross-functional communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred; or three to five years inside sales and supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to interface in a customer-responsive manner over the telephone and in person.
  • Able to handle difficult customer situations with diplomacy.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • The individual must be entrepreneurial and assertive and possess the experience, skills, and attitude to be able to achieve the company's market share/revenue goals.

Responsibilities
