About The Position

CNC Manufacturing Supervisors-in-Training are responsible for overseeing production in one or more assigned departments. They direct and coordinate the activities of manufacturing employees, ensuring compliance and enforcement of safety & environmental programs and other Company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include the selection and performance management of assigned staff, ensuring the manufacturing process operates smoothly and efficiently to meet quality and scheduling requirements. Supervisors-in-Training also train new employees and may perform direct labor associated with positions in their assigned department(s).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in aerospace manufacturing, including direct labor work similar to that completed by the assigned department(s).
  • Industry and technical knowledge representative of the work performed by assigned department(s).
  • Comprehension of the AS9100 Quality System.
  • ERP experience is required.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing employee and company records, and demonstrating integrity.
  • Self-management skills including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines.
  • A valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record (MVR) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in a manufacturing/technical field or a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other related field of study.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred; 'lead' experience and advanced supervisory training may be considered in lieu of direct supervision experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement programs is preferred.
  • Infor Visual experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures and hold team accountable.
  • Proactively identify job hazards and collaborate to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety.
  • Communicate professionally to convey instructions, demonstrate procedures, and manage employee performance and behavior.
  • Set an example for integrity, communication, and compliance.
  • Comply with manufacturing processes, quality standards & procedures, and leader instructions.
  • Attend production meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding production scheduling and quality issues.
  • Record information in ERP system and update other metrics.
  • Communicate regularly via phone, email, and in-person with employees.
  • Verify equipment is operating correctly and safely; perform basic troubleshooting or submit work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
  • Utilize tape measure, mics, calipers, and other gauges to accurately interpret part measurements and visually assess and inspect parts.
  • Drive motor vehicle as required.
  • Interview applicants and select qualified personnel.
  • Operate machines/equipment as needed.
