About The Position

The supervisor of Imaging Services monitors the daily operations of patient and staff workflow efficiently and accurately to ensure high quality patient care and directly supervises Imaging personnel. At Orlando Health Imaging Centers, our expert medical teams use advanced imaging tools that produce highly detailed images and precise results. Our facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for our staff qualifications, image quality, safety policies and quality assurance. Your screening exam will be evaluated by a board-certified radiologist, providing you with a timely diagnosis and setting you on the quickest path to treatment and recovery.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida AND valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; or Valid American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) AND maintains current BLS/Health Care Provider certification required.
  • Two (2) year of experience in Radiology or Radiology Specialty, as applicable for area. (E.g., MRI, Sonography, CT, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Directs the work of technologists and support staff to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy to achieve high quality care.
  • Establishes and productively assesses and corrects staffing patterns that support excellent customer service.
  • Ensures images meet the established Quality Control standards.
  • Applies the principles of radiation protection and safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Consistently exercises professional judgment and maintains a professional demeanor.
  • Communicates and interacts closely with the scheduling department, Physicians, and Radiologists to ensure optimal patient/staff flow and resolves patient care issues.
  • Compiles, monitors, and analyzes data for critical success factors, Joint Commission, and budget variance reports.
  • Interacts and works with other department supervisors and staff to continually improve patient care issues (i.e., task forces, focus studies, PI teams, steering committees). Performs PI initiatives, and process flow changes as directed.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Imaging computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Performs staff orientation.
  • Facilitates monthly staff and lead meetings.
  • Provides team members with in-services, training, and education.
  • Serves as a resource for students and faculty members for affiliated Imaging programs.
  • Ensures the safety of all customers.
  • Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Adheres to Orlando health’s mission statement and strategic imperatives.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines and education requirements.
  • Evaluates time entry for accuracy/completeness.
  • Monitors all Radiology systems to ensure appropriate use, accuracy, and completion of tasks.
  • Maintains a cooperative work environment.
  • Maintains inventory for the section.
  • Monitors compliance for license, registry, and mandatory education of technologists.
  • Assists with patient care as necessary to ensure quality customer satisfaction.
