About The Position

This position is responsible for the supervision, coordination and the safe and effective execution of all maintenance or custodial service activities for assigned personnel. This role directly supervises craft, foreman, general foreman and team leaders in the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, removal, or adjustment of equipment/supplies in accordance with established project procedures, requirements and specifications.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Nice To Haves

  • If non-degreed, expectation is six (6) years craft, foreman, general foreman, or team leader experience
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Certificates, licenses, registrations, as required
  • Certification in First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Complete work by planning and scheduling daily crew deployment with the customer’s operations, including personnel deployment, materials and information availability to accomplish work in a way that is consistent with efficient operation
  • Maintain workflow by approving completed work orders and stores material requisitions
  • Prepare project reports and contribute to project estimates by identifying activities, status and performance
  • Develop working knowledge of Operations & Maintenance programs by applying programs and procedures included in O&M standard practices
  • Ensure operation and availability of equipment by evaluating the quantity and quality of equipment and identifying corrective actions/programs as needed
  • Maintain technical knowledge by keeping current on available systems and equipment for maintenance management and/or custodial services
  • Supervise craft personnel and up to four (4) General Foremen
  • Complete work by implementing crew deployment schedule in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Assist site superintendent and site manager when required
  • Establish work plans for the organization, assign schedules and priorities
  • Solve problems within procedural limitations
  • Ensure that staff complete activities and work orders as scheduled each month
  • Provide on-the-job and other formal training to staff in areas of specialization
  • May inspect contractors work to determine code and compliance to specifications
  • Perform all managerial functions common to a facility maintenance and utility plant operations organization
  • Review and evaluate performance and ensures Fluor quality standards are being met
  • Review and assess scope of authorized work and continually monitors job progress against plan
  • Monitor Work Order (WO) implementation to ensure compliance with procedures
  • Consult with client(s) to help establish priorities
  • Perform an audit function regularly to ensure Fluor standards of workmanship are being met
  • Review project status reports and direct the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) to track all maintenance work, labor hours, work orders, etc.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives
  • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports
  • Manage supervisors and leads who supervise the Maintenance Department
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of site maintenance activities
