About The Position

Oversee a wide variety of distribution activities, including receipt, storage, movement, and delivery of manufacturing materials and supplies, as well as general business supplies and parcels. Maintain inventory and associated records, and may assist a higher-level supervisor.

The role provides direct daily supervision of distribution associates and supports safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations. It oversees shipping schedules and outbound shipments, ensures warehouse records and reports are maintained, monitors operational goals and standards, and helps maintain stock rotation, equipment, and the operational budget. The position works with other departmental management and maintenance, and operates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.

Requirements

• Five years of experience, including at least one year of leadership responsibility.
• Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Understanding of warehousing operations.
• Strong emphasis on safety.
• Ability to handle stress associated with deadlines and tight scheduling requirements.
• Ability to shift priorities easily.
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the working day.
• Ability to talk, hear, bend or stoop, squat, and climb heights.
• Ability to reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push or pull.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating.
• Ability to use both feet for repetitive movement operating foot controls.
• Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred.
• Trainer certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with computer systems, warehouse systems, and computerized scanning equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct daily supervision of distribution associates to ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations.
• Develop and implement shipping work schedules and assignments.
• Use communication and motivational techniques to supervise, coach, and discipline employees.
• Complete and conduct performance reviews.
• Direct and supervise outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Tour the warehouse to answer questions, evaluate operations, and solve problems.
• Recommend programs to the Manager of Distribution and Material to improve warehouse operations.
• Allocate equipment for efficient use.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure an effective maintenance program.
• Interact with other departmental management to achieve goals.
• Attend warehouse planning meetings.
• Ensure warehouse activity records and reports are prepared promptly and maintained effectively.
• Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
• Review daily warehouse operations to maintain a neat, organized facility and prevent damage to products, equipment, and the facility.
• Ensure safety procedures and policies are followed and comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Ensure proper stock rotation.
• Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
• Assist with developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
