About The Position

Oversees distribution activities involving the receipt, storage, movement, and delivery of manufacturing materials and supplies, as well as general business supplies and parcels. The role is responsible for inventory and related records and may assist a higher-level supervisor. It provides daily supervision of distribution associates and supports safe, clean, efficient warehouse operations, timely and accurate outbound shipments, and achievement of warehouse goals and standards.

Requirements

Five years of experience, including at least one year of leadership responsibility.
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Understanding of warehousing operations.
Strong emphasis on safety.
Ability to handle stress from deadlines and tight scheduling requirements.
Ability to shift priorities easily.
Ability to stand and walk for most of the working day.
Ability to talk, hear, bend or stoop, squat, climb heights, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push or pull.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating, and both feet for repetitive movement operating foot controls.
Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.
Trainer certification is a plus.
Familiarity with computer systems, warehouse systems, and computerized scanning equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide direct daily supervision of distribution associates to ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations.
Develop and implement shipping work schedules and assignments.
Use communication and motivational techniques to supervise, coach, and discipline employees.
Complete and conduct performance reviews.
Direct and supervise outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Tour the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations, and solve problems.
Recommend programs to the Manager of Distribution and Material to improve warehouse operations.
Allocate equipment for efficient utilization.
Coordinate with maintenance to ensure a sound maintenance program is implemented.
Interact with other departmental management to achieve goals.
Attend warehouse planning meetings.
Ensure warehouse activity records and reports are prepared on time and maintained effectively.
Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
Review warehouse operations daily to maintain organization and prevent damage to products, equipment, and the facility.
Ensure safety procedures and policies are followed and operations comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
Ensure proper stock rotation.
Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
Assist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
