Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a mechanical engineering-related occupation.
  • Working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code
  • Specific knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code Section III
  • Fatigue analysis and material behavior of carbon and stainless steels
  • ANSYS and other Finite element software codes
  • Understanding of welding operations and ability to analyze local conditions
  • Ability to communicate difficult technical problems and solutions clearly to a variety of engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical direction of the component analysis team.
  • Develop schedules and budgets as well as scope definitions for analyses for pressure retaining, safety-related systems in accordance with the ASME BP&V code.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching of engineers.
  • Ensure development actions are performed as necessary.
  • Provide input to new opportunities in company.
  • Be a strong voice to the customer, ensuring confidence in the product delivered.
  • Perform reviews of all analyses performed in group to ensure accuracy, procedural, contractual and technical compliance.
  • Act as subject matter expert in the area of pressure retaining systems and fatigue analysis.
