About The Position

The Supervisor I, College and Career Readiness (CCR Supervisor) will build relationships, systems, and programs to ensure that each student at The Excel Center graduates with a realistic career plan that is connected to post-secondary employment and education. The goal is for every student to have engaged in either Concurrent Enrollment with a local community college or an industry-recognized Certificate to complete their graduation requirements from the Excel Center or enrolled in a 2-or 4-year college. The CCR Supervisor will provide direct advising and case management services for students as they near graduation and will be instrumental in the implementation of a comprehensive foundational career-development program, which will allow for intentional advisement of students on academic diploma tracks and enrollment in industry-recognized certification courses and/or in dual-credit course attainment. The CCR Supervisor will develop and maintain an industry-based network of community partners, along with close-knit working relationships with local college and university staff, departments, and enrollment protocol. The work of the CCR Supervisor is to ensure graduates are supported in a viable pathway into a career and/or college placement, prepared with the skills, resources, and support to actualize their postsecondary plan. The CCR Supervisor’s work entails facilitating the student path, from enrollment through graduation to successful transition into work and/or college engagement and culminating with graduates/alumni sustained success in their career pathway. This is a full-time, year-round, in-person position at our school located in Aurora, CO. Applicants must reside in Colorado and work from the Aurora facility.

Requirements

A Bachelors degree in a related field or three (3) years of related experience in the same or similar capacity.
2 years’ experience supervising or managing staff.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a secondary or higher education setting, and/or career counseling and workforce development.
Possesses a working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google applications (specifically Gmail, Google Docs, etc.), including the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams).
Demonstrates the ability to create and edit documents, manage email communication, collaborate digitally, and perform basic data entry and organization tasks.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a professional and responsive service to internal and external customers, builds positive relationships, addresses customer needs effectively, and uses feedback to improve service quality.
Ability to articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend others' needs.
Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to meet deadlines, follow through on responsibilities, and produce quality work in a timely and organized manner.
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues by evaluating information, exercising sound judgment, and developing effective solutions.

Must have valid Colorado State driver license.
Must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

It is preferred that the incumbent have the ability to drive for company business.
For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least: 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation), 25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services, 25 years of age for CDL.
Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier);

Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day support of Specialist I, Post Graduation Support, as well as hiring, termination, approving times cards and time off requests, and completing the annual performance review.
Lead the school culture toward the development and design of career pathways for targeted, industry-driven programs with sequential options, including dual-enrollment, noncredit and credit certificate programs.
Responsible for developing and maintaining industry advisory networks to create more opportunities for student exposure to the world of work, including on-the-job opportunities, internships or job shadowing, and other experiential learning for career pathways.
Make sound recommendations to the school Director on student placement into internships and job opportunities.
Develop innovative, career-focused marketing and recruitment strategies for promoting career pathway opportunities for students.
Demonstrate a culture of innovation and responsiveness to meet the current workforce development needs of students and businesses.
Align job training and education programs to jobs that are in demand or likely to grow in the immediate future in the local market.
Oversee and support students in all certification and dual-credit classes they attend.
Provide one-on-one support to students throughout the college preparation process (which includes but is not limited to college search, application, and transition process).
Understand and explain the college admissions process to Excel Center students.
Conduct workshops or work with staff on sessions about essay writing, interviewing skills, financial aid, resume writing, etc.
Coordinate college preparation testing for all students (ACT, and/or Computer Adaptive Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS)).
Provide information on college fairs, campus visits, scholarships, etc. to current students, teachers, and alumni.
Seek out internships, apprenticeships, scholarships, and career opportunities for The Excel Center and alums.
Build relationships and partner with college admissions counselors to create open lines of communication and sharing of information.
Plan, organize, and/or teach graduate seminars, focusing on College and Career Readiness and teach Senior Seminar every 8-week term, to prepare students for graduation and success in postsecondary endeavors.
Provide developmentally oriented career and academic advisement through in-class instruction and personal counseling sessions.
Coordinate student use of and activities related to computerized guidance information systems and career assessment instruments.
Serve as a liaison between the school and the community.
Create and maintain outreach efforts to Excel Center alums.
Stay in contact with and track graduates as they pursue their postsecondary options to maintain up-to-date employment, career, and college attainment.
Collaborate with Career Pathways Supervisor in The Excel Center network to share best practices.
Attend all GEI training opportunities and professional development opportunities provided by the Goodwill education Initiative (GEI) to enhance professional development and share best practices.
Actively assist in the ongoing student recruitment process.
Conduct, gather, and coordinate the development of research and performance measures for credential completion, educational attainment, and efforts that bridge educational systems for career path employment.
Research, gather, and report current labor market and demographic information examining the current education and workforce system for gaps and alignments.
Assist with all reporting and enter all student information into the Goodwill Student Information System (SIS) database on a regular, consistent, and timely basis.
Attend and participate in meetings of key stakeholders in education and training, workforce and economic development to develop and strengthen information and resources related to the creation of career pathways.
Provide backup assistance to all positions within the school.
Perform other duties as assigned.
