About The Position

The Hoist/Shaft and Stationary Plant Supervisor role offers the opportunity to lead and oversee all maintenance repairs for hoists, shafts and stationary equipment, along with schedules and related activities. You will also be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of personnel at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operations. This role is to recruit for a vacancy. The roster will be 7 days on / 7 days off and 7 nights on / 7 days off (12 hours). Whilst residential is preferred, the role is also open to FIFO and DIDO, with access to our camp accommodation. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $128,000 to $155,000 CAD.

Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Certified and competent in hoisting, rigging and suspended loads.
  • Three (3) years hoist maintenance experience.
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience with shafts and underground operations or several years of experience working and progressing through various levels of underground mining.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fixed mining equipment, industrial system reliability, and project management.
  • Supervisory common core and five (5) years’ experience as a supervisor.
  • Proven leadership and management track record.
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Pronto).
  • Very familiar with department procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledgeable in Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization capabilities.
  • Well-developed decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities
  • Sound computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office programs with proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of all hoist plants, shafts, and ancillary plant.
  • Assist in the development of the maintenance schedule, coordination of jobs, productive work methods and effective supervision.
  • Monitor and control key performance indicators for equipment.
  • Verify hoist plant and shaft maintenance is executed in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and report key reliability metrics.
  • Develop and achieve the overall maintenance and production strategy supporting the goals of the operation.
  • Assist in the needs analysis and budget preparations for maintenance and shaft initiatives and activities.
  • Assist in the development of the annual business plan that documents strategies, goals, targets and action plans for hoist plant and shaft operations.
  • Support communication and coordination between Maintenance and Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Supervise hoist maintenance and shaft crews and verify they promote safety, productivity and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS), R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 854, Mines and Mining Plants, including regulations for underground mining, hoisting, surface operations and mine process plants.
  • Actively report and investigate safety incidents.
  • Review and evaluate employee performance and provide coaching as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
