Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC, OneContent, or similar electronic medical records systems
  • Training or leadership experience in HIM functions

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily HIM department operations, ensuring effective communication and workflow management
  • Coach, mentor, and support staff to drive performance and professional growth
  • Monitor productivity and quality metrics; report outcomes and implement improvements
  • Analyze electronic patient records for accuracy, completion, and compliance
  • Serve as the primary HIM representative for the client site
  • Collaborate with physicians and coding teams to ensure timely completion of documentation
  • Support development and implementation of HIM policies, procedures, and workflow enhancements
  • Stay current with regulatory, industry, and market changes and apply updates as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information
