About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Supervisor for the Gross Room in Anatomic Pathology Admin. This role involves supervising the efficient integration and management of the team and operations to properly provide laboratory services. The supervisor will define performance standards, manage operations to meet quality standards, plan, coordinate, and supervise personnel engaged in testing, and implement new technology. Participation in quality assurance and oversight for safety are also key aspects of this position. Responsibilities

Manages daily activities and the team to optimize operational processes and meet quality performance standards within the laboratory section.
Supervises personnel, selects new employees, assures staff are properly trained and meet competencies, identifies training needs, and is responsible for performance evaluation.
Evaluates and maintains quality assurance standards, programs, safety, and procedures within the laboratory.
Responsible for maintaining all required activities and documents to ensure compliance with both regulatory and accreditation standards applicable to the laboratory.
Maintains medical/legal materials/files.
