Summary: Are you a hands-on leader who thrives on keeping complex systems running at peak performance? As a Generation Maintenance Supervisor at our West Phoenix Power Plant, you’ll lead a skilled team of union craft employees—mechanical maintenance specialists, E&I technicians, or a combination of both—to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality maintenance for our fossil generation units. In this role, you’ll coordinate routine, emergency, and overhaul work, providing the technical direction, scheduling oversight, and safety leadership needed to ensure unit reliability, cost efficiency, and work quality. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with your leadership skills to make a direct impact on operational performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Five (5) years power generation experience in Maintenance, Operations, Planning and/or Engineering positions.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualification and experience in a journey-level maintenance craft discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Experience as a plant Control Operator.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency with computer and computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized work management program.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proven experience or knowledge of business practices and processes in power plant generation business including budget development, labor relations, and environmental and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Guides and leads team members by providing supervision, coaching, mentoring, performance management, training and discipline.
  • Administers processes and procedures in accordance with union contract.
  • Communicates company programs, announcements, policies, etc. to employees.
  • Provides feedback from employees to management.
  • Supervises craft personnel to ensure all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively and in accordance with plant procedures, regulations, and site schedule.
  • Ensures department personnel are properly supervised, trained and qualified to perform assignments.
  • Implements and assures compliance with the Fossil Generation Conduct of Maintenance Process which provides guidance and work practices for conducting maintenance activities in a manner that promotes safety and quality.
  • Participates in various aspects of work control, coordination, scheduling and engineering meetings involving load reductions, forced outages and planned outages activities to ensure that work is properly assigned, planned and ready to work.
  • Participates in all aspects of Maintenance Department management to ensure proper maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and to support safe and efficient operation of the plant including the development, implementation and performance monitoring of all corporate, site and business unit goals.
