About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising personnel involved in the installation, calibration, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of meter instrumentation, telemetering communication equipment, Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology, MV90 meter reading systems, MVRS meter reading system, meter reading handheld and drive-by equipment, credit order processes, and work order processes. The role also involves coordinating gas meter inventory data, including purchasing, testing, refurbishment, and retirement of gas meters for three regional operating centers. The Supervisor will analyze account billing components and metering accuracy. This is a working supervisor role, requiring the individual to perform job functions within assigned areas. Key responsibilities include ensuring customer interactions meet high standards of conduct and professionalism, collaborating with other departments for accurate metering and reading processes, and ensuring all work adheres to safe work practices, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree with a technical or business focus
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience including proven supervisory experience.
  • Must maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license for the state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise personnel for efficient and effective performance in meter programming, meter reading, work order processing, and installation/O&M services for instrumented gas meter accounts.
  • Develop plans, estimates, authorizations, schedules, and instructional documents for required maintenance and inspection/testing activities.
  • Coordinate, direct, and supervise the work activities of meter reading, credit, and gas meter instrument personnel.
  • Audit work practices monthly to ensure adherence to safe work procedures.
  • Assign and distribute daily workloads and monitor employee performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory meter reading and testing requirements.
  • Monitor MV-90 daily operations to ensure timely provision of interval meter reading data to transportation account suppliers.
  • Oversee the installation, programming, and maintenance of AMR devices and gas meter instruments.
  • Provide accurate data to Billing and Credit Departments, including investigation of meter reading data, work order data, and location verification.
  • Manage Large Volume Meter processes and record retention.
  • Map and route existing and newly acquired areas for optimal efficiency and equitable work distribution.
  • Ensure timely completion of all necessary records and documentation for accounting, regulatory, asset management, and related purposes.
  • Ensure successful cross-boundary interface with other functional areas including customer accounting, customer service, procurement & inventory, plant records, plant accounting, engineering, gas operations, and system dispatching.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and work practices.
  • Provide input for annual capital and O&M budget development.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and meet customer schedules by ensuring all metering equipment is purchased, programmed, and tested.
  • Ensure metering accuracy for all customers from the meter through the AMR and MV90 systems.
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze statistics and schedules to measure departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Training Department to create a safe working environment and achieve department and company safety goals.
  • Ensure capital expenditures meet budget goals.
  • Ensure operations and maintenance expenditures meet budget goals.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performance workforce by acknowledging and rewarding employee strengths and accomplishments.
