About The Position

The Supervisor, Fragrance Compound position involves overseeing compounding and material handling operations, ensuring adherence to quality and safety guidelines, and managing a team of up to 20 subordinates. This role requires a strong understanding of compounding procedures, chemistry, and fragrance materials, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance. The supervisor will be responsible for accurate inventory control, material handling, and maintaining production schedules to meet on-time shipping needs. Additionally, the role involves managing employee timekeeping and collaborating with various departments to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Working knowledge of current good manufacturing practices and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Knowledge of metric system and conversions.
  • Ability to understand safety labels, manufacturing instructions, safety data sheets, scale readouts, correspondence, labels, and code numbers.
  • Ability to follow verbal instruction.
  • Mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide, conversion from metric to English units for volume and weight).
  • Reasoning ability – apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • College education preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fragrance materials including wet, dry, viscous, flammable, hot and hazardous substances.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and safe and effective use of fragrance raw materials.
  • Working knowledge of compounding procedures and basic understanding of chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of EFfCI, ISO 9001:2015 and SQF.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 20 subordinates.
  • Teach and counsel proper compounding techniques, troubleshoot deviations, and ensure adherence to cGMP, safety, allergen, SSOP, EFfCI, and ISO guidelines.
  • Oversee compounding and material handling operations, including manufacture of products, inventory control of raw and stock materials, bin transfers, warehouse locations, drum changes, mixing, filling, and sampling of finished goods.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control of materials, including lot numbers, warehouse locations, bins, and labeling.
  • Oversee material handling duties in conjunction with Receiving and Warehouse Management for effective material movement and management.
  • Follow approved manufacturing protocols, record keeping, and methods of operation, including SOPs, site regulations, departmental rules, and regulatory procedures.
  • Maintain UltiPro time management database for fragrance production employees, including scheduling and approving timesheets.
  • Review and maintain open order reports and production logs.
  • Attend production meetings to verify on-time production and shipment needs.
  • Communicate with planning and other departments to ensure stock levels are maintained and planned appropriately.
  • Back up material handlers as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by manager.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $65-$85,000 annually
