This part-time, indefinite role involves the supervision and organization of institutional food services operations. The position is responsible for managing staff, ensuring high standards of work quality, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned staff, including scheduling and performance monitoring. The role also involves ensuring services meet client needs, participating in committees, facilitating staff meetings, and coordinating special catering events. Budget administration, record maintenance, and ensuring the safe, nutritious, and cost-effective preparation and service delivery of food are key aspects of this position. Menu planning according to Canada's Food Guide, special dietary requirements, and maintaining sanitary conditions in kitchen and dining areas are also crucial responsibilities. The position requires adherence to health and safety guidelines, food safety protocols (HACCP), and workplace accident policies. Security of the workplace and liaising with clients and healthcare workers are also part of the role. The supervisor will work shifts and weekends to provide coverage.
