About The Position

The Supervisor, Field Service Representatives oversees and manages a team of client service professionals and serves as the liaison with local unions, employers and participants. This role involves managing the Field Service team, including hiring, training, and scheduling. The Supervisor will meet with plan participants, union representatives, and employers to explain pension plan eligibility, participation requirements, benefits, and plan provisions. They will also conduct individual and group meetings to assist participants with benefit applications, retirement options, and eligibility questions. Additionally, the role requires reviewing and processing complex benefit inquiries and applications, preparing benefit appeals, denial letters, and correspondence, and responding to participant inquiries by phone and in writing. The Supervisor will also prepare management reports and support special projects and process improvements, while delivering exceptional customer service with professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in the benefits field
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to influence others to get work done
  • Demonstrates clear, professional written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to travel including overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Review and process complex benefit inquiries and applications, obtaining additional documentation when needed.
  • Prepare benefit appeals, denial letters, and correspondence by interpreting plan provisions and documenting case recommendations.
  • Respond to participant inquiries by phone and in writing, providing guidance on benefits, eligibility, and appeal procedures.
  • Prepare management reports and support special projects and process improvements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
