Supervisor Field Operations - Glo Fiber
About The Position
The Supervisor Field Operations is responsible for all aspects of Shentel’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installation operations. The role supervises and directs assigned technicians, installers, and repair professionals. Its primary function is managing the scheduling of installations, including buried and aerial drop installations, while maintaining network integrity and providing superior customer service during installation of fiber-optic broadband internet, video, and VOIP services. Customer service installations must be completed to the customer’s satisfaction. Secondary duties include supporting special projects and repairs when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in utility operations in an installation function or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Construction experience, utility experience, or experience in water, sewer, electric, or telephony.
- Ability to schedule and manage workflows in systems.
- Competence with common computer programs and applications, including MS Office, email, web browsing, and research.
- Ability to navigate computer-based applications common in the contemporary workplace.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in construction or project management preferred.
- Knowledge of broadband fiber preferred.
- Other applicable post-secondary training or education will be considered.
