About The Position

We are looking for a Field Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance crews, coordinate shift activities safely, in a cost-effective manner, and deliver maintenance targets. This includes effectively executing planned and scheduled work as well as breakdown repairs to enhance equipment availability and reliability. The work schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off which includes a rotation of 12-hour day shift and night shift. Enjoy the outdoors year-round; camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and boating throughout the summer and fall seasons. Winter thrills include groomed snowmobile trails, snowshoeing trails, alpine and cross-country skiing, including night skiing, often beneath the Northern Lights.

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade or Technical/Engineering qualification or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
  • A valid Provincial driver’s license, Class 5 at minimum
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting: mining, processing, manufacturing or related, with experience in a unionized environment
  • Effective leadership skills: the ability to set direction, prioritize and achieve objectives, actively listen, and engage and motivate your team members
  • Clear, concise, and tactful communication
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and SAP is desirable

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in shovel and drill maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Actively participating in IOC's safety program and role modelling appropriate safety behaviours (safety observations, group safety talks, planned general inspections, accident / incident investigations, etc.)
  • Ensuring team members work safely and follow all safety standards and safe work practices
  • Providing leadership in team building, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer.
  • Arranging appropriate training for team members, review work performance and deal with grievances at the primary stage
  • Supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the execution of scheduled work plans and unplanned emergency and breakdown work, determining sequence and assignments based on work priority and availability of equipment and manpower.
  • Working closely with the maintenance planner to ensure planned jobs are within scope and providing feedback on work completed, work to be rescheduled, and parts and materials
  • Providing relevant information to be considered in development of upcoming work plans
  • Providing good customer service and maintaining a continuous improvement focus by working with customers and team members to resolve work problems and recommending measures to improve maintenance productivity and quality.
  • Providing timely data into various information systems (i.e., work order history, employee pay details, monthly reports, etc.)
  • Developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment within the department
