The Environmental Services (EVS) Support Services Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership guidance and directs all work activities of Hospitality Services staff and services, which may include one or more departments. Performs routine quality control inspections and ensures quality standards are met. Ensures that on-going training and performance assessment of employees to maintain and improve employee competencies are being conducted. Creates an atmosphere of open, positive communication throughout the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED - Required
  • Minimum three (3) years Environmental Service (EVS), Hospitality, or Janitorial/custodial experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) years direct supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for department staffing schedule and re-evaluation of staffing needs on a daily basis.
  • Collaborates with Manager in the hiring process of employees.
  • Prepares daily schedules and work assignments.
  • Adjusts staffing daily to maintain high productivity, as well as accommodate absences and changes in client needs.
  • Conducts daily documented rounding of the medical center, ancillary, and inpatient units to monitor client Hospitality needs, staff performance and that assigned workflows are completed in a timely manner.
  • Distributes and collects data collection devices to staff at the beginning and end of each shift, reviewing data daily for accuracy.
  • Ensures office and work room are always maintained and in a professional appearance.
  • Ensures all equipment, uniforms, carts, and storage areas are always maintained in an orderly, clean and professional manner.
  • Plans and coordinates project work to ensure proper frequencies are maintained.
  • Handles special requests or projects and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Ensures staff receive required hospital and departmental orientation, initial training, and ongoing education in relation to specific job functions.
  • Ensuring quality standards are communicated and in compliance with appropriate infection prevention, safety, OSHA, CMS, CDPH, Joint Commission and all other regulatory standards.
  • Provides and monitors individual guidance and motivates associates to enhance performance.
  • Tracks associates' attendance, tardiness, and performance and takes proactive action when necessary.
  • Prepares disciplinary action notices and conducts in person follow-ups as required.
  • Conducts disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance from leadership.
  • Prepares and administers fair and consistent staff performance evaluations and competencies to provide accurate feedback on job performed.
  • Responds to all customer, departmental and staff concerns/requests with urgency and takes necessary corrective action including timely follow-up.
  • Reviews and responds in a timely manner to all business / customer related messages and/or inquires received each day.
  • Ensures an adequate supply of hospitality equipment and resources are provided for medical center needs at all times and takes appropriate action and communicates any discrepancies to manager in real time.
  • Participates in department safety and advocates a safe work environment.
  • Effectively communicates with previous lead or supervisor when beginning shift and ending shift to share pertinent operational information related to the shift.
  • Schedules and hosts departmental staff meetings monthly.
  • Attends ongoing development and training courses as offered by company and facility.
  • Reviews and verifies daily all managed linen staff have accurately accounted for linen distribution by means of tablet or other linen distribution accounting methodology.
