New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Supervisor for Energy Efficiency Residential Programs to perform a variety of duties related to the supervision, coordination and promotion of energy efficiency programs at New Jersey Natural Gas. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the work that supports NJNG's energy efficiency programs. This includes overseeing work performed by vendors, managing and reporting on internal QA/QC efforts, work management process and procedures, budgetary and other performance goals related to the work completed, as well as ensuring proper controls and practices are in place to monitor vendor performance and support payments to vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting or managing energy efficiency programs required.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or people leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays, with the ability to travel periodically for industry conferences.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for NJNG’s Residential Energy Efficiency programs, including prescriptive and comprehensive rebate programs, home energy reports, and marketplace for residential customers.
  • Supervise and lead work performed on energy efficiency programs by program staff, contractors, engineers, and office support staff. Supervise programs or processes including end-to-end subject-matter expertise, responsibility for operations and engaging with internal and external supporting resources.
  • Develop, revise, supervise, and/or execute program processes and procedures and serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders related to energy efficiency programs. Interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel and provide verification and documentation that program rules and procedures are followed.
  • Lead team to analyze information, make strategic decisions/recommendations, and guide decision-making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate joint utility committee(s) to ensure consistent program delivery of the program across the state while advocating for NJNG positions/concerns in joint utility committees. Work with partner electric utilities in delivery of dual-fuel projects and programs.
  • Support the preparation and review of regulatory data requests and ad hoc regulatory inquiries. Engage with New Jersey Board of Public Utilities in working groups, including identifying potential policy impacts.
  • Lead input for assigned program(s) on department-wide forecasting and budgeting for current and future program cycles, including Quantitative Performance Indicators (QPIs) established for the program.
  • Participate in national and regional associations to improve NJNG’s knowledge of energy efficiency program approaches and technologies.
  • Support marketing outreach and business development for energy efficiency programs.
  • Streamline work procedures to promote department efficiency.
  • Participate in national and regional associations to enhance knowledge of residential program approaches and technologies. and identify strategies to layer these new approaches and technologies into programs and specific projects.
  • Participate in the development of new ideas for residential energy efficiency and demand response programs and serve as a key member of the team developing and supporting the filing.
  • Address escalated residential customer inquiries, including exploring resolutions with contractors where necessary and recommend necessary action needed to align with the contractor remediation policy.
  • Other duties as required by the Manager and/or Director to support the energy efficiency programs.
