About The Position

Join a team of highly skilled emergency medical experts, pilots, and mechanics dedicated to providing compassionate, quality medical care around the world. Global Medical Response (GMR) teams deliver emergency and patient relocation services, end-to-end medical transportation, fire services, integrated healthcare solutions, and disaster response. This role works with the Manager of Operations to ensure efficient and effective operations of Field Supervisors, Support Services, field personnel, vehicles, and equipment. The position involves educating, complying with, and enforcing company policies and procedures, making managerial decisions, and taking appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Paramedic Certification
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong reasoning skills
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience
  • Current state EMT certification/licensure required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and any additional certifications required by local, state, or company standards
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets AMR/GMR insurability requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years of EMS leadership, supervisory, or management experience, including direct employee supervision
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in emergency medical operations, preferably in a Paramedic EMS role
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced EMS or healthcare environment
  • Proven ability to manage operational performance, employee development, and customer service initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Emergency Medical Services, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience with budgeting, performance metrics, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial data and implement process improvements that drive results

Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues and inquiries from field personnel regarding work assignments, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Respond on an ambulance as part of the EMS system to meet compliance standards and provide quality care.
  • Develop coordinated teamwork between field crews as part of an integrated operation.
  • Investigate and resolve customer service inquiries from fire departments, hospitals, nursing staff, and patients regarding field employee performance and patient care.
  • Approve or disapprove shift exchanges after normal business hours when proper notice is given and forward changes to the scheduling coordinator.
  • Coordinate EMS system availability of ambulances during disaster situations or MCI incidents and assist as directed by the incident commander.
  • Respond as necessary to Haz-Mat calls, calls involving unusual circumstances, or calls with more than two units responding.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts during shifts to ensure continuation of service and forward changes to the scheduler.
  • Maintain knowledge of all company policies and regulations, ensuring consistency in interpretation.
  • Maintain knowledge of current EMS Protocols and Regulations.
  • Maintain an open door policy for field employees and encourage crewmembers to discuss issues and make suggestions.
  • Participate with new employee orientation.
  • Coordinate with field training officers and the clinical manager to identify clinical improvement opportunities and provide follow-up.
  • Act as a liaison between field personnel, the Manager of Operations, and the General Manager.
  • Meet with each Supervisor to schedule quarterly platoon meetings with their crews.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, resolving daily issues, and supporting field personnel to ensure standards are met.
  • Oversee the Operations Supervisors and maintain continued training in administrative duties and daily operations.
  • Assist in the oversight of Support Services and Dispatch.
  • Oversee Investigations and Employee Performance issues.
  • Oversee employee uniform accounts.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to and compliance with information systems security policies and procedures.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel, and provide disciplinary actions.
  • Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment.
  • Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.
