About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor (RN) – Emergency Department – Full-time, Nights position at Texas Health Fort Worth, a MAGNET, Level I Trauma Center, offers a unique opportunity to provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise. This role is responsible for assisting the manager/director with human resource management, including evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education, and orientation. The supervisor will also collaborate with the manager/director to control costs, manage department budget and productivity, and foster an environment that promotes patient and family-centered care through various initiatives like hourly rounding and bedside shift report. This position is crucial in collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe, individualized care and enhance the patient experience, while also assimilating leadership responsibilities throughout the unit and entity. The role requires a commitment to continuous improvement of competence and serving as a role model for other healthcare team members.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • PALS – within 90 days required
  • TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire required
  • 2-years’ experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required
  • Current ED experience
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Responsibilities
