Job Summary: Responsible for supervising material handlers, equipment operators, team leaders, and others in a manner that will maximize order flow, inventory accuracy, and processing standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or University degree
  • Basic knowledge may be acquired through specific courses, self-study, relevant experience, or lengthy on-the-job training.
  • Utilize information from several sources into familiar areas with some need for analysis. Problems are somewhat variable, but solutions are generally based on established practice
  • Involves organizing most aspects of own work according to pre-established deadlines and priorities. Must occasionally modify own work priorities. Limited planning is required.
  • Providing explanations or answering questions requiring the interpretation of information.
  • Limited freedom to make decisions. Decisions have a limited impact on other job functions. There is little or no consequence of decisions in relation to other work processes or functions within the organization.
  • Required to provide guidance to others or regularly train or act as a resource to employees.
  • Required to supervise 8 or more employees.
  • Required to regularly adapt to frequent changes impacting own work.
  • The work requires occasional short periods of high concentration and attention, e.g. up to 25% of the time.
  • Significant exposure to one disagreeable condition; or occasional exposure to several disagreeable conditions or to one very disagreeable condition.
  • Light physical effort such as standing or walking for long periods, lifting and carrying lightweight items, working in positions which cause some physical strain.
  • May be asked or required to wear PPE to protect from hazards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written
  • Must maintain confidentiality in regards to sensitive information
  • Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data and formulate metrics
  • Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System preferred (i.e. WM Manhattan, PkMS, Oracle WM, SAP WM, RP)
  • Experience within a manufacturing company supplying product to Retail Customers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily distribution demands in receiving, order processing, and/or shipping by assisting with resource allocation, workflow organization and order prioritization
  • Monitors workflow, space and supply constraints. Offers suggestions and implementation processes that will ensure efficient flow pf product through area(s) of responsibility
  • Maintains accurate operational and inventory reports as required/requested by the management team
  • Direct associates and their work activities to ensure optimum efficiency within the defined scope of operation
  • Monitors associate performance daily and communicates information regarding goals, responsibilities, policies, procedures and areas for improvement. Responsible for initiating corrective action as needed
  • Maintains teams work schedule, associate time-off requests, attendance and timekeeping records, and approves time for payroll processing for all associates within their scope of responsibility
  • Ensures safety and housekeeping duties are followed in assigned areas
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
