About The Position

The primary duty of this role is to provide assistance to the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Niagara Falls branch during night and weekend shifts. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent qualification
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or working towards the certification
  • 2 years of customs brokerage experience
  • Good command, both verbal and written, English skills.
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening
  • Service oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building professional relationships internally and externally
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize and manage time effectively to meet goals and achieve results

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up shipments for importing across all modes of transport using SWI/IID
  • Troubleshoot rejects for all branches after hours and on weekends should they occur
  • Manage and approve vacation time and scheduling team members accordingly to shifts
  • Assist operators with questions regarding clearances, CBSA related issues, and any other inquiries that are brought forward
  • Constantly check on workflow and confirmation of entries, when due
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and Policies set in place by the department and organization
  • Identify tasks that require special handling, recommend process improvements, and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility
  • Provide input and be an active participant at weekly team briefings
  • Perform Other duties as and when assigned
