About The Position

This is a salaried position responsible for overseeing greenhouse operations and ensuring crop care tasks are completed efficiently and productively. The role involves training and motivating a team of workers, establishing work schedules, resolving issues, and maintaining health and safety standards. The Supervisor will also be responsible for reporting and completing necessary paperwork related to greenhouse activities.

Requirements

High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.
At least two years of Supervisory experience required.
Literacy with MS Office products and internet navigation.
Physically capable of regular greenhouse activities – including walking, lifting, bending, and withstanding periods of high heat.
Effective verbal and written communication in English.
Ability to take leadership role and display personal initiative.
Attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with/manage 30+ workers.
General understanding or ability to be trained on the Hortimax/FS labor system or similar.

Responsibilities

Ensure greenhouse work (lowering, pruning, picking, etc.) is completed in a timely and productive manner.
Train and motivate greenhouse workers, spending one-on-one time to ensure standards are met.
Supervise yearly activities such as greenhouse clean-out and planting.
Establish work schedules and procedures, coordinating activities with other departments.
Resolve work-related issues using company procedures, including the progressive disciplinary process.
Prepare and submit quality reports to the Labor Manager.
Enforce all Health and Food Safety guidelines within the greenhouse.
Complete necessary Health and Food Safety Paperwork.
Perform other duties as assigned.
