About The Position

Supervise and coordinate all aspects of credit and collections. Notify customers of delinquent accounts to solicit payment. Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer's account; keeping records of collection and status of accounts.

Requirements

Experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, customer account management, or a related finance function.
Prior supervisory, team lead, coaching, or training experience preferred.
Strong understanding of AR aging, collection practices, credit risk evaluation, payment follow-up, dispute resolution, and account documentation.
Strong communication, problem-solving, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, reporting tools, and other technology used to manage credit and collection activity.
Must reside in or near Waukegan, IL
BS/BA in a related discipline.
Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field.

Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Responsibilities

Reviews and approves credit applications.
Prepares credit reports as directed.
Persuades customers to pay amount due on credit account, damage claim, or non-payable check, or negotiate extension of credit.
Reports status of accounts and contracts regularly.
Prepares legal documents as needed.
Interviews, selects and trains staff.
Ensures associates have the tools and training necessary to do the job.
Performs other duties as assigned.
