About The Position

The Supervisor, Contract Construction is responsible for leading and overseeing daily field and administrative functions related to distribution gas infrastructure installation and replacement, restorations, and associated construction activities. This role manages both Company hourly employees and Contracted entities, ensuring efficient resource allocation, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with company standards and safety requirements. The Supervisor collaborates with internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders to drive project execution, resolve issues proactively, and maintain high-quality outcomes. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, proactive problem solving, and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, including scheduling, inspections, billing, and project closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of team lead/coaching experience.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Prior experience managing union employees
  • Ability to work on computers & various programs
  • Problem-solving experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for pipe and meter installations, restorations, and construction-related activities
  • Supervise and support a team of field personnel ensuring productivity and adherence to standards
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign resources to meet project deadlines and operational goals
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly work schedules, including crew assignments and workload balancing
  • Review and approve labor, payroll exceptions, and time-off requests
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Monitor job progress and ensure accurate documentation in systems (e.g., billing records, construction orders, and inspection reports)
  • Oversee invoice processing and ensure accuracy of job costing and financial tracking
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members, support skill development and training initiatives
  • Lead and participate in meetings including pre-construction, project status updates, and contractor reviews
  • Manage field inspections and ensure completion of required reports
  • Respond to operational issues and emergencies during normal working hours, ensuring timely resolution
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including final documentation, restoration verification, and reconciliation of records
  • Support bid preparation activities, including reviewing RFPs, materials, and scope requirements
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners
