About The Position

Coordinates daily activities of the PDC Tradesmen to assure projects and repairs are performed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the patients and staff. Responsible for the coordination of all applicable renovation and improvement work practices, quality standards, policies and procedures to assure maximum efficiency on each project. Comply with regulations and guidelines as defined by policy, regulatory directives and accrediting agencies recommendations. Works closely with leadership to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or other related field OR; Associate’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or other related field AND Two (2) years of experience in construction field OR; High school diploma or equivalent AND Four (4) years of experience in construction field.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Must be maintained during employment period.
  • State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare system, an academic medical center/health care facility, and public sector and/or university.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, business, or management.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in construction field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare system, an academic medical center/health care facility, and public sector and/or university experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures documentation of services are completed accurately and in a timely manner through a review of time sheets, work orders, inventory sign-out sheets and dispatched calls.
  • Organizes PDC Tradesmen to begin prompt corrective action on all deficiencies found during inspections and ensures communication to the appropriate personnel affected in those areas.
  • Assures all repairs are cost effective by evaluating the options available, considering total cost of repairs and acting appropriately.
  • In a collaborative effort with department management, works towards facility compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulatory agencies (i.e., NFPA 99, NFPA 101, OSHA, National Electric Code, RASHE standards, JACHO standards, ASHE standards, ICRA requirements, etc.).
  • Provides feedback to the manager regarding team member performance and work status as requested.
  • Coordinates team member scheduling with Manager to assure proper manpower availability to carry out scheduled work.
  • Provides feedback and performance indicators about PDC Tradesmen to the Manager for their use in conducting periodic performance appraisals.
  • Ensures team members are instructed in cost effective and efficiency performance standards.
  • Maintains and assures technical competence in the Planning, Design, & Construction field by attending in-services, assisting outside contractors, reading trade literature and attending schools.
  • Recommends improvements to the computer maintenance management program to minimize downtime and reduce costs of systems and equipment.
  • Assures the technical competence in the Construction field by attending in-services, reading trade literature, and schools.
  • Maintains safe and secure work environment.
  • Arranges supply deliveries to the construction site as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Performs equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
  • Works Tradesmen to complete work orders as needed.
