About The Position

Inclusion Langley Society is a leading non-profit organization providing services and support to children, youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Langley and surrounding communities. Established in 1959, the Society delivers a comprehensive range of community-based programs that support over 3,000 individuals annually in achieving greater independence, inclusion and quality of life. Inclusion Langley Society has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full-time Supervisor to join our Community Inclusion Services team. Reporting to the Director, Community Inclusion and Employment Services, this position is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, supervision, and coordination of community inclusion services that support adults with developmental disabilities. The Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services that align with the organization's mission, philosophy, values, and accreditation standards. Working collaboratively with individuals served, families, support networks, community partners, and agency staff, the Supervisor promotes opportunities for inclusion, independence, skill development, employment, and meaningful community participation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to innovative service development, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, employers, volunteers, and community partners. This temporary position is expected to end on December 31, 2026. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in potentially high stress environments and apply positive behavioral support strategies and evidence based behavioral management principles to support safety, emotional regulation, and positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Social Services or a related field; A combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Minimum three year of direct support experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with complex medical or behavioural needs
  • Two years supervisory or equivalent experience (Acting or Training)
  • Strong understanding of community inclusion, person‑centered practices, and positive behaviour support strategies (training in behavioural intervention is an asset)
  • Experience supporting individuals in community‑based settings is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to remain professional, compassionate, and calm in high‑stress situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to follow prescribed lifting, transferring, and behaviour support techniques
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts based on individual needs
  • This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of Community Support Workers through recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture while ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of person-centered support plans tailored to individual goals and needs
  • Promote independence, self-determination, dignity, choice, and meaningful community inclusion for individuals receiving support
  • Develop opportunities for employment, volunteering, lifelong learning, social connections, recreations, and community participation
  • Build and maintain partnerships with employers, educational institutions, volunteer organizations, and community agencies
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, support networks, and professionals to coordinate services and advocate for individuals
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, quality improvement projects, strategic planning, and cross functional teams
  • Monitor program outcomes, identify best practices, and implement innovative approaches to improve quality of life and inclusion
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including documentation, staffing and budget oversight, health and safety compliance, incident investigations, and accreditation requirements
