The Social Development Division drives transformative changes to achieve stronger, safer, and more resilient and equitable communities and neighbourhoods in Toronto. City Council unanimously adopted SafeTO, the City of Toronto's 10-year Community Safety & Well-being Plan, to drive 26 actions across 7 strategic goals. The Violence & Intervention Support Unit is part of the SafeTO Toronto Office to Prevent Violence applying and all of system public health approach to violence prevention, intervention, and response, and recovery. To advance the ongoing objectives of SafeTO, the Community Safety & Well-being Section is hiring the Supervisor Violence Intervention: As part of the Community Safety & Well-Being Section extended management team, the Supervisor will report to the Manager of Violence & Intervention Support Unit to co-lead a diverse team of community development staff to support communities impacted by violent incidents to facilitate response, and recovery efforts. The Supervisor will also lead the team to implement prevention and intervention strategies, community capacity building and fund community-driven safety initiatives. Additionally, we are hiring for the Community Risk Intervention team. The Community Risk Intervention team is part of the Community Safety & Wellbeing Section and leads multi-sector approaches that bring together community, health, housing, justice, social service and government partners to identify and respond to complex situations involving elevated levels of risk. The team provides leadership and oversight for Furthering Our Community by Uniting Services (FOCUS)Toronto and the Situation Table for Housing-At-Risk (STAR), supporting coordinated interventions for individuals and households experiencing complex and intersecting needs while identifying opportunities to strengthen broader service systems.
