Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field and 4 years of healthcare experience required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates attainment of the required competencies.
  • Four years of clinical experience required.
  • Three years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting and role required.
  • Able to successfully navigate issues that impact providers, clinic operations, compliance, and business goals as well as understand their correlation and impact.
  • Expected to use sound judgment and be able to recognize issues, or a pattern of issues, with policies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective and professional relationships with patients, staff, and providers.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, and policies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge about medical terminology, patient care, and clinical procedures.
  • Able to effectively lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers. This includes being able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Know-how and experience using technology and electronic health records (EHRs) to manage patient data and clinical operations.
  • Able to identify and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medical assistant clinical procedures (e.g., vitals, injections, EKGs, specimen collection) sufficient to perform and directly oversee this work.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Senior Manager and their Physician Leader counterparts to ensure that expectations of the patients and providers are met.
  • Help develop, modify, and execute policies that affect immediate operations of the clinic.
  • Decision making is highly revolved around resolving clinic operations issues that require data analysis or in-depth operational knowledge and can also be focused on potential future operations issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring administrative and operational effectiveness of the clinic.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that patient information is kept confidential.
  • Manage patient complaints and resolve conflicts between patients and staff.
  • Participate in the development of clinical protocols and guidelines to ensure that patient care is of the highest quality.
  • Support communication between the patients and billing office.
  • Manage medical receptionist and medical assistant staff; Provide performance feedback and input to both staff and inform Senior Manager, Clinical Operations.
  • Responsible for identifying and discontinuing careless and negligent patient care due to staff skills, errors, faulty judgement, or inadequate processes, policies, and workflows specific to the clinic.
  • Provide education and direction to frontline staff on the practice’s direction, initiatives, and strategic plans.
  • Oversee maintenance of the clinic building, offices, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and rules of accrediting bodies; must continually monitor operations.
  • Ensure medical assistant staff and clinic equipment comply with OSHA bloodborne pathogen and infection control standards.
  • Perform medical assistant clinical duties daily to support clinic operations, including patient triage and vitals, patient preparation for provider evaluation, and assisting with ordered procedures such as injections, EKGs, and tray set-ups.
  • Administer patient medications and manages specialty drug handling, storage, inventory monitoring, and ordering, in accordance with clinic protocol and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment, including equipment sterilization/autoclaving and exam room turnover between patients.
