About The Position

This is a full-time position within the FLMG Rome Immediate Care department, located at 302 Shorter Ave. The role requires 40 hours per week and is benefits-eligible. The pay range is $22.90 - $34.35. The Supervisor Clinical Ambulatory serves as a subject matter expert, answers routine questions, offers guidance and support, and communicates clearly with team members, physicians, and patients. This role involves recognizing when to escalate issues to Site Management or other leadership. Key responsibilities include patient rooming, collecting vital signs, conducting point-of-care testing, maintaining accurate medical records in the EHR, calling in prescriptions with physician approval, monitoring patient flow, stocking exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and ensuring lab/x-ray reports are available. The position also involves performing computer functions such as medication reconciliation, coding, order entry, and appointment scheduling. Additionally, the supervisor will assist providers with patient education for various age groups, train and lead new clinical staff, ensure practice compliance with licensure and regulatory requirements (FLSA, CLIA, OSHA, ADA, EEO), answer phones, perform basic clerical duties, and provide backup for all back-office functions. The incumbent must meet continuing education requirements.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant certification from a nationally recognized and accredited certifying body upon hire or by the completion of a probationary period
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Medical Assisting diploma or certificate from a nationally recognized accredited program OR 1 year of verifiable full-time Medical Assisting work experience with current certification
  • OR Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing with a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license (LPN) approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
  • OR Successful completion of formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
  • 2-3 years working as a Certified Medical Assistant in a medical office setting

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing with a valid, active LPN Nursing license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert within the Practice.
  • Answers routine questions from colleagues.
  • Offers guidance and support.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately with team members, physicians and patients.
  • Recognizes when to escalate and direct issues to the Site Manager or other leadership and acts accordingly.
  • Rooms patients.
  • Collects patient vital signs.
  • Conducts point of care testing.
  • Maintains accurate medical records and documents in the electronic medical record (EHR).
  • Calls in prescriptions with physician approval.
  • Monitors patient flow.
  • Stocks exam rooms.
  • Assists with procedures and treatments.
  • Communicates with efficiency and verifies that lab, x-ray or procedure reports are available for provider.
  • Performs required computer functions including but not limited to medication reconciliation, coding medical and laboratory procedures, order entry and scheduling appointments.
  • Assists provider with appropriate patient education and communication to individuals including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Trains and leads new clinical staff.
  • Ensures practice compliance with licensure requirements, FLSA, CLlA, OSHA, ADA and EEO.
  • Answers phones and routes to appropriate source within the practice.
  • Performs basic clerical duties.
  • Provides back up for all back office based functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Meets and maintains continuing education requirements.
