Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related clinical field required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a healthcare environment utilizing EHR systems or providing application support
  • Experience supporting Epic or other clinically focused systems required
  • Current clinical licensure upon hire required (ideal backgrounds include RN, LPN, or Medical Assistant)
  • Epic certification required within 180 days of hire and maintained thereafter
  • Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, medical terminology, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an outpatient ambulatory setting preferred
  • Experience in an FQHC or community health environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Epic clinical applications including EpicCare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, Care Everywhere, EpicCare Link, Behavioral Health, Wisdom, Rover, and related modules
  • Collaborate with ambulatory and operational leadership to strategically plan clinical system development and workflow improvements
  • Analyze workflows, system functionality, data collection, reporting, and technical issues associated with Epic systems
  • Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic system solutions and enhancements
  • Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution support for Epic clinical applications and workflows
  • Support system upgrades, testing, implementations, and optimization initiatives
  • Develop and maintain templates, order sets, provider favorites, and workflow configurations within Epic
  • Lead assigned Epic-related projects including project documentation, timelines, status updates, and coordination with leadership
  • Collaborate with trainers and end users to support education, adoption, and effective use of clinical applications
  • Participate in IT governance, change control, and ticket management processes
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate across operational and clinical departments to improve efficiency, quality of care, and system effectiveness
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and support activities
  • Document workflows, processes, best practices, and system changes for future reference and training purposes
