About The Position

The Supervisor of CIP Asset Policy & Reporting works with a multidisciplinary team (Engineers, Compliance Analysts, Business Technicians, and contractors) and owns FirstEnergy’s CIP Low Impact program for Transmission assets. This role drives practical, field-ready policies, internal controls, and audit-ready evidence for Asset changes across Transmission protection & control, SCADA/RTU/data concentrators, and other BES Cyber Assets. This role governs OT implementation and evidence at the asset level and ensures consistent compliance across Transmission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related) with 7+ years professional experience preferred; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., NERC compliance, CISSP/CISM/CRISC) are a plus.
  • In lieu of degree: 9+ years directly related professional experience at an exempt level (data reporting/analysis, costing, recommendations, and subject matter depth).
  • Proven ability to lead office-based teams, conduct check-ins, coach for development, and manage performance.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; effective presenter to all levels of FirstEnergy leadership.
  • Demonstrated project management and multi-tasking capability in a dynamic, field-centric environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; questioning attitude and continuous learning mindset.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and PowerBI dashboards.
  • Familiarity with CASCADE, PowerBase, EDOA, SAP, FileNet (Content Navigator).
  • Experience with transmission substation and line equipment and asset attributes (e.g., protection relays/IEDs, RTUs, data concentrators, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Model FirstEnergy’s Ethics and Safety culture; foster inclusive, open communication.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members; manage performance and coordinate training aligned to CIP Low obligations and internal controls.
  • Plan work, balance workloads, and ensure on-time delivery of compliance commitments.
  • Maintain and enhance FirstEnergy’s CIP Low policy suite and procedures for Transmission assets—aligned to CIP‑003 (Low) management controls including: security awareness, access management, Electronic Access/LERC for Low, Transient Cyber Assets & Removable Media, and information protection controls; integrate FE procedures for incident identification and reporting.
  • Lead weekly Transmission Low Impact Change Reviews to track installations, removals, and modifications of relays/IEDs, RTUs, data concentrators, HMI/panels, protocol converters, and related devices to sustain audit-ready evidence
  • Maintain systems/dashboards to track compliance and device lifecycle data; ensure data integrity across CASCADE, PowerBase, EDOA, SAP, FileNet (Content Navigator), and PowerBI.
  • Prepare evidence, responses, and witnesses for Regional Entity audits/spot checks; coordinate RFIs and corrective actions; ensure Transmission evidence is complete, consistent, and traceable.
  • Identify Transmission-specific compliance risks (policy gaps, control weaknesses, inconsistent field practices) and implement mitigation with measurable outcomes.
  • Conduct process/control reviews across Transmission operations; identify performance gaps and drive improvements.
  • Recommend improvements to installation/removal/modification workflows to reduce compliance risk and improve data quality/evidence.
  • Develop KPIs and monitoring tools for planned/unplanned Transmission work and report trends to leadership.
  • Coordinate consistency across Operating Companies for Transmission application of policy and procedures.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Transmission stakeholders; provide clear interpretations and practical guidance for field implementation.
  • Support and encourage participation in the Emergency Plan through assigned storm duties (hazard response and dispatch).
  • This role owns Transmission OT controls and work documentation; collaborates with IT to align logs/alerts and to resolve findings impacting Transmission assets.

Benefits

  • The estimated pay range for this role is $104,550- $147,600. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $125,460 - $177,120.
