The Supervisor Central Lab Processing is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of specimen processing, efficient operations, proper staffing levels, and resource utilization. This role works collaboratively with pathologists and clinical and administrative leadership to ensure laboratory services effectively support the clinical and safety initiatives of the enterprise. The supervisor directs and oversees efficient operations, acts as a liaison to lab leadership, and maintains competency in processes within their area of responsibility. They serve as a competency assessor and department subject matter expert, identifying, developing, and implementing performance improvement processes to enhance patient, teammate, and physician satisfaction. The supervisor plans and participates in the implementation of standards and systems to enhance quality, consistency, efficiency, and timeliness, fostering innovation for current and future needs. They ensure all operations and policies comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements, developing processes for continual inspection readiness. Effective communication is key, and the supervisor collaborates with other leadership to provide excellent customer service. This role involves selecting, coaching, and developing the team, setting clear expectations, managing performance through recognition, feedback, and progressive discipline, and making recommendations for hiring, compensation, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations. The supervisor is responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
