About The Position

Dell Medical School is seeking a Supervisor of Campus Behavioral Health Operations. This position has an end date of 08/31/27 but may be renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. This role supports mental health programs and initiatives developed through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of mental health care for children and adolescents across Texas. The Supervisor, Campus Behavioral Health Operations plays a vital role in supporting children and families through TCMH programs like the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT). TCHATT delivers telehealth services to school districts to identify, assess, and address the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents, while YAM provides behavioral health education to students in grades 8–12. This role directly supervises school-based staff providing on-campus program support and has primary responsibility for day-to-day operations, including scheduling, staffing coverage, travel logistics, and workflow coordination. The Supervisor ensures adherence to program requirements and regulatory standards, manages staff capacity and documentation compliance, and supports effective service delivery across participating campuses in collaboration with internal teams and school partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • 4 years of experience in behavioral health, hospital operations, clinical support services, or community-based, governmental, or nonprofit programs.
  • 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience may substitute for 1 year of required experience.
  • Proficiency in electronic systems including, but not limited to, Google Suite, Trayt, Slack, Athena or Epic, Calendly.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Oversees School-Based Behavioral Health Operations: Directs daily operations of TCHATT school-based services, ensuring alignment with program and departmental standards. Coordinates staff schedules, campus assignments, and workload distribution to meet service demand. Adjusts staffing coverage in response to clinical volume, school needs, and operational constraints. Serves as an escalation point for operational issues impacting service delivery and ensures timely resolution.
  • Supervises Staff and Manages Workforce Deployment: Provides direct supervision to the Senior Campus Behavioral Health Navigators and other school-based staff. Covers workload during an employee’s absence. Monitors staff capacity, productivity, and service utilization to maximize access to student services. Conducts performance management activities including hiring, training, onboarding, coaching, feedback, and corrective action. Supports staff engagement, professional conduct, and adherence to organizational expectations.
  • Ensures Compliance with Regulatory and Program Requirements: Monitors adherence to HIPAA, FERPA, TCHATT guidelines, school district policies, and organizational procedures. Provides guidance on confidentiality, documentation standards, and professional conduct in school settings. Ensures completion and accuracy of required documentation and data entry within defined timelines. Identifies, escalates, and supports mitigation of compliance risks or concerns.
  • Coordinates School and District Partnerships: Supports operational coordination with school and district stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery. Reinforces expectations for communication, scheduling practices, and professionalism. Facilitates collaboration between school staff and behavioral health teams. Assists in resolving logistical and operational concerns to maintain continuity of care.
  • Manages Travel and Administrative Logistics: Oversees scheduling of staff travel across assigned campuses and districts. Ensures completion of travel authorizations and required documentation in accordance with institutional guidelines. Monitors compliance with travel policies and manages related administrative processes. Coordinates logistical planning for staff deployment across geographic areas.
  • Supports Data Monitoring and Performance Improvement: Reviews operational and service delivery data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities. Prepares summary reports and communicates findings to leadership. Monitors staff compliance with data entry standards and reporting timelines. Supports continuous improvement initiatives based on performance insights.
  • Facilitates Cross-Program Collaboration and Outreach: Collaborates with school-based program leadership to support cross-coverage (e.g., YAM programming). Participates in school-based outreach events and engagement efforts. Supports implementation of program initiatives across multiple service lines. Assists in integrating services across behavioral health programs.
  • Maintains Ongoing Communication and Issue Resolution: Conducts regular check-ins with staff to identify operational challenges. Escalates significant issues to leadership and supports resolution within established workflows. Communicates updates, expectations, and process changes to staff. Reinforces consistency in operational practices across assigned teams.
