Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum six months of supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Minimum six months of customer service experience required.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet applications.
  • Experience working with and handling animals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily adoption operations to ensure successful matches and provides education to adopters regarding animal care needs.
  • Maintains a strong public presence and upholds exceptional customer service standards.
  • Manages staff scheduling.
  • Supports the Animal Care and Admitting teams as needed to ensure high standards of animal welfare and customer service are consistently maintained.
  • Coaches, develops, and motivates staff through one-on-one meetings, performance development discussions, and regular floor presence.
  • Conducts investigations related to incidents and performance concerns as required, identifying effective resolutions.
  • Collaborates with other supervisors to develop and implement plans that enhance staff morale and engagement.
  • Supervises departmental volunteers and coordinates volunteer workflow.
  • Delivers excellent customer service and education by answering questions and resolving concerns or complaints.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge and training across all operational areas, including Admitting, Adoptions and Animal Care to provide seamless cross departmental support.
  • Participates in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff and volunteers.
  • Reviews and maintains accurate animal records in Shelter Buddy.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, protocols, and standards related to cleaning and sanitation.
  • Performs daily opening and closing administrative duties, including ordering and receiving shelter supplies.
  • Creates and maintains current SOPs, forms, and health and safety documentation.
  • Manages daily team scheduling through ADP.
  • Assists in budget development and capital projects.
