About The Position

The Job Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Supervising Sterile Processing Technician who supervises staff and operations involved in receiving, storing and issuing sterilization of supplies and equipment. Duties also include assisting with developing standards and ensuring the clean, safe, efficient and effective instrument and equipment distribution and availability and compliance with safety and regulatory standards; develops and implements process improvement initiatives, assigns and reviews work, directs workflow, approves time off and evaluates performance and provides staff training and education. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician operating sterilizing equipment and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment in an acute care hospital.
  • Must possess certification as a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) in any one of the following: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Only accepted in conjunction with the completion of a Sterile Processing Technician course from an accredited agency.
