The Sterile Processing Technician performs essential duties following department procedures and manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) with exceptional accuracy. This role involves disassembling, inspecting, preparing, decontaminating, and assembling instruments for sterilization. The technician operates mechanical washers, ultrasonic cleaners, steam sterilizers, and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers. They also perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes and operate automatic endoscope reprocessors. Key responsibilities include maintaining a working knowledge of surgical instrumentation, instrument assembly and tracking software, and regulatory standards. The technician also handles customer requests, maintains work areas, cleans non-critical patient care equipment, and assists with inventory. They are expected to actively assist with the onboarding of new partners and perform other duties as assigned.
