About The Position

The Supervising Professional (SP) provides clinical evaluation, training, and supervision of PCA/CFSS field staff to ensure services are delivered in accordance with Minnesota DHS requirements and each participant’s service delivery plan. The SP collaborates with the person served to refine and update the care plan and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan (IAPP), develops training plans for direct support workers, and ensures worker competency. The Supervising Professional supports regulatory compliance, service quality, and participant safety. This position provides clinical supervision and oversight of PCA/CFSS workers. The Supervising Professional does not have authority over hiring, formal discipline, termination, or compensation decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to human services and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or individuals aged 65 and older; OR Registered Nurse (RN); OR Public Health Nurse; OR Licensed Social Worker (LSW); OR Qualified Mental Health Professional (as defined by Minnesota statutes).
  • Certificate from PCA Steps for Success or PCA/CFSS Steps for Success within the past three (3) years.
  • Completion of PCA QP training and testing within six (6) months of hire.
  • Completion of required DHS-approved training.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background study.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, train, and supervise PCA/CFSS field staff to ensure services are delivered according to the participant’s service delivery plan.
  • Collaborate with the person served to refine and update the care plan and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan (IAPP).
  • Develop and implement individualized training plans for field staff.
  • Conduct competency assessments to ensure workers meet participant-specific needs.
  • Provide additional training related to changes in care plans, equipment, or participant needs.
  • Conduct required supervisory activities in accordance with DHS regulations.
  • Ensure services are delivered in compliance with Minnesota DHS and CFSS requirements.
  • Document supervision, training, and competency activities accurately and timely.
  • Identify and document performance concerns and report findings to the Designated Manager, HR, or Staffing Manager as appropriate.
  • Be available to consult with participants and support workers as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
