The Summit Center is Western New York’s leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental, social, and behavioral challenges. This is a community-based position which provides recreation and leisure opportunities as well as training in independent and daily living skills to adults with disabilities, including those that exhibit moderate to several behavioral challenges. The Supervising Life Skills Trainers may also fill in and serve as a direct support professional when necessary or as needed. A Supervising Life Skills Trainer ensures that the individuals supported are provided person centered programming and are encouraged and supported in making their own decisions to the greatest extent possible. A Supervising Life Skills Trainer ensures that individuals are offered opportunities to participate in their community to the greatest extent possible in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
