About The Position

Syska Hennessy Group, a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services for highly technical buildings, is seeking a Supervising Electrical Engineer specializing in Healthcare to join their team in Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, or Chicago. This role involves representing the firm to clients and project teams, supervising and coordinating projects, and leading staff members. The company offers a dynamic work environment with a supportive culture, diverse workforce, competitive compensation, and a flexible work schedule (Monday-Thursday in-office, 9 hours/day; Friday remote, 4 hours/day). Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare, and Project Management is a plus.

Requirements

  • Current PE registration.
  • Healthcare design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an Accredited Institution.
  • 12+ years of experience working in a consulting firm.
  • Background in the MEP Engineering Industry.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience.
  • PE licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Engineer of Record on dedicated projects.
  • Supervise and lead coordination meetings.
  • Lead and supervise staff members in their tasks.
  • Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations.
  • Assist Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in business unit technical training and staff mentoring.
  • Coordinate and assign various projects to the engineering team, including system design and project engineering.
  • Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Manage Construction Administrative duties, such as field reports, responses to RFIs, and processing Bulletins and Addenda.
  • Coordinate with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices.
  • Monitor project accounts receivable and contact clients to expedite payment.
  • Monitor all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, and Owners.
  • Participate in and contribute to the firmwide Expert Teams committee.
  • Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including add service agreements.
  • Supervise the preparation of analysis and reports of system options and building conditions.
