Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the daily operational activities of their shift while considering employee well-being, customer satisfaction, and the objectives of the Distribution Centre.

Requirements

  • Diploma of College Studies (D.E.C.) and five (5) years of experience managing operations in a distribution centre. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience managing employees in a unionized environment.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and team follow-up skills.
  • Recognized leadership abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Bilingualism

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 10 Operations Supervisors.
  • Manage a shift consisting of more than 150 unionized colleagues.
  • Optimize operating costs while maintaining customer satisfaction and employee well-being.
  • Organize, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day operational activities.
  • Ensure the implementation and management of human resources activities for the shift, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), workforce planning, hiring, training, performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the Distribution Centre management team to ensure consistent and effective management practices.
  • Lead weekly OHS and operations meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies and standards within the department.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of short-term operations.
