About The Position

As a member of the Maintenance sector management committee, the incumbent manages daily activities related to their sector. The incumbent provides management support to their team, operations colleagues, and management. They act as a leader for the planning team and play a key role in the smelter's performance. They are responsible for rigorous planning of maintenance work to maximize the availability of critical equipment (pots, carbon, casting centers, workshops, auxiliary services) and to support continuous production operations. They supervise planners and ensure that planning activities allow for safe, efficient, and uninterrupted execution of operations. They oversee the continuous optimization of their management processes and compliance with the principles of continuous improvement (ABS) and equipment reliability (REX).

Requirements

  • College or university degree in engineering, management, health and safety, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of management experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in team management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mobilize, and develop the team of planners.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and rigor of planning activities.
  • Define priorities based on the smelter's operational challenges.
  • Support teams in resolving complex issues.
  • Ensure compliance with annual schedules, critical work, and major shutdowns.
  • Ensure alignment with production constraints (continuous operations).
  • Guarantee the availability of resources (workforce, parts, specialized equipment).
  • Reduce delays and eliminate obstacles to execution.
  • Implement and monitor performance indicators (schedule adherence, efficiency, reliability).
  • Identify and deploy initiatives to improve productivity and reliability.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of the maintenance budget.
  • Promote best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Ensure the integrity and optimal use of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ensure data quality (equipment history, breakdowns, costs).
  • Standardize methods and ensure complete technical documentation.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, procurement, and the warehouse.
  • Act as a reference point for planning future work.
  • Participate in operational coordination meetings.
  • Ensure strict compliance with OHS and environmental standards.
  • Integrate safety into all stages of work planning.
  • Promote a safe and proactive work culture.
