Job Title: Supervised Visitation Specialist Department: Youth Services Reports To: Manager of Youth Services Job Summary The Supervised Visitation Specialist monitors and supervises parenting time between parents or caregivers and their children to ensure child safety while supporting the development and maintenance of healthy family relationships. This role facilitates structured family visits, documents interactions, and provides guidance to parents or caregivers through modeling and coaching positive parenting strategies. The Supervised Visitation Specialist is responsible for coordinating and scheduling visits, maintaining the integrity of supervised parenting time services, and intervening when necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of children. This role works collaboratively with referring agencies, families, and Turning Point SOC team members to provide services that meet the needs of the community.

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to use a private vehicle for client transport when necessary
Must maintain minimum auto insurance coverage as required by state policy
Must pass criminal background checks and CPI background screening
Must complete required training and credentialing in accordance with Indiana state regulations and evidence-based models
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, based on family visitation schedules

Responsibilities

Build rapport with families and establish trust-based relationships with parents, caregivers, and children.
Schedule and conduct a family time preparation session with parents or caregivers prior to the first visit to review expectations, goals, and parenting strategies.
Ensure the first supervised visit occurs within five (5) days of referral acceptance, or sooner when required by court order or scheduling availability.
Supervise parenting time to ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional needs of children are prioritized.
Observe and document interactions between parents/caregivers and children accurately and objectively.
Model and coach nurturing and developmentally appropriate parenting approaches during visits.
Monitor visits for safety concerns and intervene when necessary to ensure child safety.
Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage conflict or emotionally charged situations.
Address and report safety threats immediately to the referring agency and other appropriate entities.
Safely transport clients using a private vehicle when necessary, ensuring compliance with child safety restraint laws and best practices.
Attend Child and Family Team Meetings and other required meetings with referring agencies to support development of visitation plans.
Participate in supervision meetings regarding each referred family at least bi-weekly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
Collaborate with team members and community partners to ensure coordinated and effective services.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
