About The Position

The Visitation Specialist is a hybrid community-based role that assesses and monitors the safety and wellbeing of the child(ren) while simultaneously teaching parenting skills and providing connection to community resources for the purpose of stabilizing the home environment. Job responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related Human Service field required
  • Minimum of one year experience required with a related (non-Human Services) degree
  • Act 33/34 Clearances
  • FBI Clearance
  • Valid, current driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
  • Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually
  • Reliable automobile with current inspection
  • Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the job

Responsibilities

  • Assess client and family needs using formal and informal evaluations, referral documentation, and family input
  • Develop and implement individual service plans focused on safety, stability, and parenting capacity
  • Provide parent education using evidence-based curricula and tailored to each family's needs and learning style.
  • Assist families in accessing and navigating resources such as housing, healthcare, education, and basic needs
  • Transport clients to visits, court hearings, service appointments, and other relevant obligations
  • Complete all required documentation (e.g., service plans, progress notes, contact logs) accurately and on time using the electronic health record
  • Participate in program audits, case reviews, and legal proceedings when required
  • Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards, including HIPAA and CPSL mandated reporter protocols
  • Participate in case conferences, court hearings, team meetings, and interagency planning sessions
  • Meet required billable service delivery targets as defined by program, standards
  • Participate in required professional development, completing a minimum of 40 hours of role-relevant training annually, and maintain documentation of completion
  • Willingness to work non-traditional work hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate family needs and court orders
